I picked this shell shaped item from a dealer for $10 . I really don't think it's a projectile , but I want to make sure .
It is 11 in. tall , 5.5 in across and the hole is about 2.5 in . it looks to be made of cast iron and weights 48 lb.
There are markings cast into the bottom they are a 55 and a B .
I think this is something for a monument , but want to make sure .
