Need help with i.d. of U.S. 81MM round

Im lazy I guess,and a novice mortar accumalater.I beleive this is a U.S. Viet Nam era 81mm ,my fuse from my pratice round fits dated 1969.My sculpture calipers are right on with the pratice round,but its simuler to my WW1 stokes.
This was found at fort Riley,Ks years ago.I can,t find any markings.
The tail dosn,t fit,its for ref..

It looks like a US M56. Should have been some stamped markings.
