Greeting again,

Well they threw another weird one at me. Did you blokes have a 2.5" Stokes???

It looks like a 2.5 inch Stokes mortar, but it just doesn't look right for a stokes. Found on the east coast of the US.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance.

With all the rust, it might be a 3 inch stokes rusted down to 2-1/2. But it is shorter than a normal stokes.

It looks like a short body 3inch Stokes. We found lots of these on R&D ranges in the UK.

I have some documents somewhere which I'll dig out if someone else doesn't get there first.

Cheers

Pete

I found this picture showing the different length of "Stokes", but no other information on different sizes except for 2", 3", 4", 6", and 9 " mortars use by UK forces. ANY data/information/documents would be greatly appreciated. As they say "you learn something new everyday"! I sure do here.
