Need to ID bullett casings

steps2work

New Member
I detected 9 bullett casings all within 8 feet of each other in Brittany France in the forest of Paimpiont / Brocilande....

On the base of the casings the 1st numbers are TE opposite C opposite 1 opposite 47,
All the otheres have the TE with the T being over the E......

Any ideas

Tony

7.5mm MAS

These are 7.5mm MAS cases from the MAS 36 French infantry rifle.

The "TE" indicates manufacture at the Cartoucherie de Toulouse and the "C" is the metal supplier, Compagnie Francaise des Metaux, Castelsbrazin.
The "1" and "47" indicates manufacture in the first trimestre of 1947.

A minor point, but the correct term is cartridge cases, not bullet (one "t") casings.

Do you have a license to metal detect in France? They get very touchy about these things!
