The G70 was the transit box used at the end, although it had been used for 36 grenades as far back as 1944-5 for tropical (Far East) operations. It contained four cardboard tubes, each with three grenades and a tin with three igniter sets.
Thanks Snufkin ,great illustration as well, just another question on the illustration it has in the packing tube next to the det tin a Cylinder Luting 1/4oz... what is it ?
A small tin of luting (essentially a waterproofing wax) was included for coating the base plug threads, and even around the fuze disappearing into the detonator sleeve - it provided an extra level of moisture resistance in hot and humid climates.
