hello all, first time poster, short time browser, Im looking to start a Small collection, im only really interested in U.S Frag, the Mk 2 Catches my eye the most. I've been doing some research, on what to watch for , how to spot a fake etc. I have a few Questions. What is a "good" price for a Mk2 and for that matter the M21? Condition im not real concerned with i wouldnt mind a restore job, and also, are there a good online source to purchase them Here in the U.S?other than Gb and EB. thanks for any info, and thanks for a wonderful site

Hello new guy and welcome to BOCN. This a great forum that will prove invaluble to you.

On the MKII pricing, this depends on many aspects such as what era(there were numerous variations from the end of WW1 all the way through the Korean War and beyond. Really early types were painted Black or Gray, then yellow, then OD. There were MKII's(fill screw in the base) and MKIIA1's, which has a solid bottom. Condition and level of completeness and originality can also be a big factor when it comes to determining value.

If you find a nice OD MKIIA1 for $175-$200 that's pretty good. Original yellow MKII's can fetch $300-$500 depending on condition and body type. Early Gray or Black types can go for similar numbers or even more depending on the same aspects.

Original complete M21's in nice shape with correct fuzes(M205A1 or M205A2) will run between $40 and $150(mint with can). GB is one of your best bets, but asking around here on the forum can yield good results as well.

Anyway, welcome and good luck!
