New Mills marking

At the weekend I bought a nice Mills 23 MkII with a James Cycle baseplug dated 4/17.

The body, under the filler plug is marked HMG. Never seen that before. Certainly not a cast mark and wonder if it was a 23 MK II made later than the baseplug with it and the makers names is in the casting as per the spec for the 23 Mk III.

Will put up a photo tomorrow.

Is it maybe HHC? Some contract iron founders put their initials and/or mark on Mills bodies.

That looks like it but I'd say it was H H G on closer inspection. Definitely ends in G.
