new zealand made anti tank mine?(local pattern)

I have had this in my collection for quite awhile and recently saw 3 more in a museum here.does anybody know if they were to be used as actual mines or just for training by home guard(local pattern)don't know how they would be filled/fuzed either.measurements 180mm(7in.)dia,130mm(5 1/2in) high.looks like they were made from some sort of can/tin

The marking LP on the tin would indicate what it was filled with, that would most probably point you in the right direction.
 
Hi. Typically LP on NZ made ordnance means Local Pattern. I've not seen this type before. Very nice! Cheers
