Nickel plating help please

just bought this model 25pdr on ebay,,The seller says its nickel plated which is worn in some places,Is it possible to repair the plating or am i going to have to take this to a professional to have it re done...
The pictures are all i have at the moment as only won it yesterday

Nice model. If you can wait until Tuesday I'll ask some people who plate for a living at the company I work with..... My first guess is that it is not possible to repair plating - it would have to be stripped off and be completely re-plated.

Hello eodda ,that would be great if you could find out for me,im in no rush like i said earlier ive not received this yet,was a lucky find only had just over a minute left on it when i found it ,got it for 19.75 inc postage..If it cant be repaired or replated i may just paint it
