No 2 grenades . Top Hales large Rifle Grenade circa 1911 with 14 segment frag collar & muzzle clutch . Mexican contract for riot control . Second down ditto but with 12 segment frag collar . Third down , small version with larger than standard frag collar & muzzle clutch [later to become the No 2 grenade] . Bottom usual WW1 No 2 with the standard size frag collar & fitted with [rarely seen] SMLE type clip . Second picture shows a large version stripped down . Note the needle pellet is rebated at the base & secured with the safety pin through the base piece but NOT through the centre tube as well unlike the later types . The centre tube sits in a small recess above the hole for the pellet . Also , the inside of the top cap fuze holder is dished inwards .
