No.5 Mk.1 Mills Bomb unmarked base plug?

I have a baseplug for a No.5 Mk.1 Mills that’s completely unmarked, something I’ve not seen before. Is this something that the members here have observed before?

Yes, I've had a few. I suspect they were picked off the production line before they could be marked. They are mainly the early aluminium plugs.

Here's a photo.

A couple more unmarked aluminium base plugs. The right hand one is from an item manufactured by Mills Munitions Co. around July 1915, and the provenance strongly suggests this is a genuine, albeit unmarked, MMCo. plug.
