Just seen this ! thought it was some bombs at first ! but look closer ..... there PPSH 41`S ? for transport to the front line maybe ? or smuggling ? does anyone know about this picture ?

Just googled it and apparently it was a Soviet Union idea mounting 88 PPSH in racks on the Tu-2sh variant of the Tupolev TU-2 bomber.with all guns been fired simultaneously ,,but as in flight reloading was impractical the idea was abandoned

There was actually an identical design in the U.S. that used Thompson Submachine Guns. They pointed down and forward. The forum below says it was a Thompson marketing idea, but there weren't any brass catchers and the empties from neighboring guns were jamming each other.
