Located just out of Blenheim in the top of New Zealands South Island is the Knights of the Sky Exhibition at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. It is a very extensive collection of WWI aircraft owned by the Sir Peter Jackson, who produced the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit films. It is a very fascinating collection despite being nearly all flying replicas except for about 4 original aircraft. These are the Airco DH-4, Eindecker AS Caproni CA22, Thomas-Morse Scout & workshop, and the Curtis Flying Boat. The collection of uniforms and aviation material from WWI is also quite extensive and all very nicely displayed. Two more hangers are presently being built to house his collection of WWII planes, currently two of them are sitting outside.
