I recently found a cracking ticket deal if visiting the Historic Dockyards at Portsmouth. For 21 you get to visit all parts of the Historic Dockyard including the Warrior, Victory, Mary Rose etc but you also get access to the Royal Marines museum in Southsea, the Submarine museum at Gosport and Explosions (The Naval ordnance museum) at Priddy's Hard. And if that wasn't enough, when visiting the dockyard you get a free boat trip up around the modern warships and free ferry crossings from Portsmouth over the river to Gosport. And if all that wasn't even enough, you can go as many times as you like for a whole year. Bargain!!
And there is now a new park and ride scheme allows for a car and up to 8 passengers to park on the outskirts of the town and take a very posh bus right to the gates of the Historic Dockyard and all for 3. It really is the best way to visit Portsmouth and avoid all those traffic/parking issues.
Enjoy, Dave
