This is the cartridge and tin for the P.A.C. (Parachute And Cable) barrage rocket projector as used on ships in WW2.
The 6lb rocket launches a parachute suspended explosive charge on a thin wire to foul the wings of attacking low-flying aircraft.
The tin has white painted lettering. 115mm x 45mm dimensions.
The brass two-piece case has a grey wad. It had corrosion so needed cleaning and lettering.
Side is printed: SPRA 4/42 Lot 1485. Headstamped and shows 60 gn powder load which is twice the powder of a line-thrower (30gr).
