Only took the third Chesterfield flea market day since re=opening to find a WW2 ammo box. The blue and white stripes on the lid I'm sure were done by a Sheffield Wednesday fan!
It looks tatty and rusty and the stall holder must have thinking 'yes, someone has actually bought it' after I handed over a fiver. It is all surface rust and has no rot at all considering even the inside has no paint left at all.
I've removed the lock piece and the holes will be welded up. The forth photo shows the remnants of a label which just shows 'packed by'.
I used paint stripper on the blue paint and it brought up yellow stenciling and the large 'TNT' lettering in the fifth photo.
It hasn't the original latches which I can make from wire. The manufacturer is MPB which I can't work out. Closest is Metal Box.
Cheers
