Pre-1917 WWI German Stick Grenades

Hi

While I've collected British grenades for quite some time now I have only recently become acquisitive of German specimens. I have two early stielgranates which I believe should date to 1916, however one apparently has a 1915 date struck into its handle, which appears anachronistic. I'd welcome enlightenment if it’s out there.
