Hi to all I believe this to be a 3lb /47mm Hotchkiss projectile from the 1890s it is a mark lll common shell of cast iron and has a makers mark of A.FCo.LD this is how it appears on the projectile I'm not sure of the maker but it could be A.F Craig &Co ltd engineers ,Scotland from 1894 if I am mistaken please let me know it also has a small stamp of JC inspectors mark? It also seems to have no broad arrow acceptance mark anywhere ,it also has a interesting Hotchkiss rear fuze/plug made by R.L as a mk ll then modified by the star mark to a mk lll then finally to a plug large P stamp also dated 4/95 any extra info as always is appreciated thanks
