Found this little gem in a newly discovered Army Surplus store. I am testing my skills with MEDIAFIRE and am confident this link is screwed up in some way or other.

I have not read through this 40+ page pamphlet. I don't recall ever having seen a reference to this particular publication. Anyway, interesting even considering it only having a passing connection to the "base" of ordnance that BOCN is noted for.

Very good find Rick! Also, a very interesting read.

Right after Vietnam, the Code of Conduct was totally revamped. It was found that American POWs who were captured by the NVA/VC/ Khmer Rouge/ and the Pathet Lao and placed in the Hanoi area as POWs, such as the Hanoi Hilton. The fact that almost everybody who tried to follow the CC failed. The say when they used "The ropes" on you, everything went out the window.

Basically stated, is that nobody beat "The Ropes" and when somebody tried and failed the were infected with Depression. Everybody released by Hanoi to the USA (Clark AFB in the philippines) in 1973 expected to be dishonorably discharged for their failure to abide by it. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The only people who were in actual trouble were the ones who collaborated with the enemy and were actually seen doing it. Controversial people like PFC Robert Garwood who was seen by other prisoners helping the NVA guards wasn't released unti 1979. That was 5 years after the last "supposed" American came home. What was he doing in Vietnam during those five years is anybodys guess.

One last thing, Nixon, in his recordings back then, now made public, indeed left prisoners behind because of why, I do not understand . But it was a serious of an offense to the point of being impeachable and even have charges brought up against him. I am reading an article as to why he did this and will hopefully find out some information. I will get back with all of you when I have the facts.
