hi guys
im guessing here this is some sort of naval shell nose cone or fuze cover ?
would this screw on to a brass case or a steel shell ?
i would love to see a picture of the whole projectile

Curious item !

Hi Armystuff what an interesting item !

My guess is that it is a Fuze Nose cap from a large projectile and you have the outer time setting part-some big Fuze though ?

I expect someone out there will soon identify it for you.
