It looks like an early Charge One for a British 5.5" Mk3 Medium gun.

The Charge Two increment would normally be tied around the stem to make up the Short Range portion of the four charge system.

The Short Range portion contained 4lb 4oz of cordite. I cannot find the individual increment weights.

The charge looks in very good condition. What was it found in? Was there any sign of the Charge Two increment?

There was this single item only. We found it in a grange, his owner is dead and his family was afraid about this.
