Protective cap for 8 inch howitzer propelling charge

The attached photos are of a cloth protective cap. Its purpose was to cover the gunpowder igniter sewn onto the base of the propelling charge of the 8 inch howitzer. This and the others I have were leftovers after the first Gulf war. All their associated charges were burned in the Saudi desert, deemed uneconomic to recover and had been subjected to high storage temperatures, thereby reducing their useful shelf life.
