psc 36 mills 19 ?

Hello, i have a psc mills with 19 on the shell does anyone know why, i`ve seen others with different numbers.

It is a mould identifier. For QA purposes as much as anything - in case of problems with castings, such as misalignment of core in the mould, blowholes, etc. Still done today in modern die casting.

It's worth noting that WW1 Mills 36's with the date on the body have it in full i.e. 1918 and normally on a segment nearer the base plug than the filler screw.
