Q's on a few 7,92 x 57 Mauser SMK-Ls rounds

Hello,

I have a few question regarding a couple of mauser rounds which I couldn't quite solve with help of the headstamp list by W. van Eijk.

Regarding HS: P186 S* 16 36, this is fitted with a primer all painted in a translucent red, the primer is a refit (six securing points) (I only have the casing for this round).
Q: Was this round an SMK-H (possibly reloaded as a "platz" and fitted with another primer), or an SMK-Ls refitted with a "ZH 30/40" ?

Regarding HS: CG -ST+ 57 44, this is a SMK-Ls round.
Q: is this round fitted with an "ZH 30/40" or with an "ZH 43" ?

Regarding HS: CG ST+ 1 45, this is a SMK-Ls round.
Q: is this round fitted with an "ZH 30/40" or with an "ZH 43" ?

Regarding HS: CG -ST+ 7 45, this is a SMK-Ls round.
Q: is this round fitted with an "ZH 30/40" or with an "ZH 43" ?

Regarding HS: EEJ ST+ 26 44, this is a SMK-Ls round.
Q: is this round fitted with an "ZH 30/40" or with an "ZH 43" ?

Regarding HS: EDQ ST+ 8 44, this is a SMK-Ls round.
Q: is this round fitted with an "ZH 30/40" or with an "ZH 43" ?

In advance thanks very much and regards,
Menno.

Hello Pzgr40/42

You can find the case “P186 S* 16 36” factory loaded and reloaded.
I would say the factory loading was with sS, PmK, SmK Lsp and SmK-H
We know B-trop, PmK-v, PmK-v trop and SmK-v. One of the SmK-v and SmK Lsp has 6 primer crimps.
This means the primer was replaced. “Trop” and “v” rounds did not exist in 1936. They took old cases, or reloaded them by using the old primer.

To put something straight. The primer 43 is normally only used in brass cases for theair force.

Only a few lots of “auy” (B-Patronen) with a steel case and primer 43 are known.
Means, all the rounds you mentioned have a primer 30/40.

The highlot numbers of 1944 and 1945 of “cg” are possibly a SmE Lsp.
