RIP
tBelow is a picture of 4 US MK1 grenades. The one with no fuze is an original MK1 body with no threads for fuze or lower plug. Also pictured is my resin MK1 copy (used as a filler piece used in earlier thread). The other two are MK1 throwing dummies. Something that has always puzzled about this particular MK1 throwing dummy. It is clearly made with a MK2 body but with the MK1 style swivel type fake handle. Now The MK2 fuze replaced the MK1 fuze before the MK2 body came out. The MK1 fuze was a fiasco so replacment by the MK2 fuze was accomplished. Now why on earth would a practice MK1, clearly with the fake MK1 style swivel handle be on a MK2 type body. The body is obviously MK2 as it has the 5 rows of segments and it makes no sense to me at all why these were made with the fake MK1 type handle since the handle was already obsoleted by the time the MK2 body appeared on the scene. This has always puzzled me and I am sure there is a simple answer, but I have not a clue WHY??? Dano
