50-mm german mortar mine found in the tree this month in Ivano-Frankovsk area in Ukraine.
Sappers blewu mine in the tree.

Good thing they found it. It would have been a tragic addition to the wood stove.

Looks like they found it the expensive way in a sawmill.

When I was a kid the local sawmill near Guildford had a metal detector on the saw.

There was a lot of metal in the trees from the war and they were tired of wrecking the blade.
