Relic No5 ? Practice Grenade

New addition this relic no5 ? practice grenade..
All i have done to it is clean off the crusty rust.
NO hole for the striker or holes for the lever to sit in.
No filler hole at all
The base plug area looks to be seperate but its too seized to try and open without adding tool marks or worse cracking the body
I personally have not seen a practice one of this design befor so any further info is welcome

I'd say that's about average for practice Mills. Most of the No.5 types I have are in the region of 1lb 5oz to 1lb 7oz However the No.36s go between 1lb 1oz and a whopping 2lb 8oz, with most between 1lb 8oz and 1lb 11 oz.

In both wars local workshops seem to produce a wide variety of shapes and weights.
