Think it's a bit too late to rescue these inner tin ammo boxes, most are 50's/60's 7.62mm and some .303",there are several hundred of these in this wood(which will remain nameless),also masses of live ammo lying around,.303",including MkV,.WWII .30"-06,7.62mm & 5.56mm and sometimes more unusual stuff turns up,6.5mm Swedish gallery rounds, norweigen 7.62mm tracer(orange tips) and U.S M80 7.62mm.
These and the other rubbish, cod bottles to pepsi bottles,in this wood show a long history of use by the military, archaeology without digging!
Cheers
Tony
