I'm way outside my are of knowledge here. Posting this on behalf of a friend who is collecting Rhodesian webbing.
With reference to the kidney pouches, see picture. Presumably they are to put grenades in? If so what sort of grenade please?
Pictures/details etc please?
Thanks.
Dave

Not for grenades, the Rhodesian Army webbing was loosely based upon the UK 58 pattern.
Kidney pouches tend to be big enough to contain a large mess tin inside. Usually it also holds a days rations, field cooker and some personal admin stuff like washing and shaving kit.
Usually mounted in pairs at the rear of the belt over your kidneys hence the name!
Polite compared to the US Butt pack!
