Now in BOCN downloads section U.S. Ordnance Dept. manual No.1741 (first issued in 1911 (1912), this is the 1917 revision) Description And Instructions For The Use of Rifle And Hand Grenades. Covers the Babbitt rifle grenade and latter version of the hand grenade. From the Internet Archive, the scan is very good with good diagrams.

Pictured below are diagrams from the two manuals showing 2 versions of the Babbitt hand grenade, as the grenade appeared in the 1911 (1912) manual verses as it appeared in the 1917 revision.

I know very little about grenades so if any of this is incorrect don't hesitate to chime in.
