Hello,
I would like to know why this HE Russian 37mm M39 shell has 3 holes under the rotating band :

No idea, but "Soviet Cannon" page 353 shows several projectiles with similar holes.

Unfortunately, I do not own this book, which seems it, does not give an answer about these holes.
