Are you all as stumped as I am ? I'm assuming because of its shape it's of the shell case variety rather than bag charge ? And being black it's a service round ?
Can you measure the circumference of the sabot, well, the third you have, and then with some basic sums we can work out the diameter to help clear that one up.
i thought that too, and Jason in the states , but this one has holes in the upper collar , don't think the dm53 does , unless this is some variant. As rest of shape looks bang on
It makes sense that it would be the German one. You are in that part of the world, and none of the U.S. Manufactured ones that I have seen have the flats on the sides or holes through the front.
You're also in the right part of the world for the UK 120 mm APFSDS. The shot for the Challenger was painted black. 400 mm length is about right for that shot.
