Found out more about the fuze and its still an Armstrong but a pattern A with a lead and tin composite body from 1860

The Armstrong Fuze Percussion Base No 9 of which there were Marks 1, 2 and 3 which were declared obsolete in W.O.L.C. 23046.
The Model 'E' was Fuze Time Armstrong No 22 and was declared obsolete in W.O.L.C.12208.

That is a very good find. Well done. I guess you have been peeping into Part 2 of the 1870 Treatise which has some text and illustrations on the Armstrong Time ( and Time & Percussion) A thro' F.

A friend of mine sent me a page
From the Treatise of Ammunition
Which helped a lot thanks

I dont know if you are still active on here but i would love to find and read what you found out about the A-Pattern fuze as i have possibly found a fired one.

It is an A body, made from 50/50 tin and lead. The A came out with an iron adjustment ring, and these were found to corrode badly in damp conditions, that was then changed to a brass ring and that is on your dug fuze. Don't know if that change made it the B time fuze or not. Used on 12 Pr lead coated Armstrong Segmenting shells.
