Hello,
My buddy found this in his stuff, very interesting short 37mm. It must have been some type of advertising piece.
The projectile band says, "PROTECTILE BRAND"; GEARS AND PINIONS; MAN'FD BY; THE UNITED STATES PROJECTILE CO.;BROOKLYN, N.Y.
Base of case has an intertwined "G R"; S; 335 and 1916. Height of brass is 58mm, projectile W/O plug is about 90mm high. Primer doesn't look "real", probably a dummy for the promotional giveaway. The only thing I could find on the Projectile Co, was a short 1902 article in the New York Times about a possible acquisition of the company. From what I found here, it could be a subcal for use in howitzers. Any info appriciated, Thanks for looking, hope you find it interesting.
