The Marine Aircraft Experimental Establishment conducted 'skip bomb' trials on Loch Lomond during 1943/4. What is this procedure compared to bouncing bombs?

Bouncing bombs were rotated before dropping: skip bombs were just regular 'iron bombs' dropped low at speed in an attempt to skip them over the water.
