Much information about the SOE, its work and training was finally declassified in 1999 when documents were passed to the Public Records Office, now known as The National Archives (TNA). The author taped interviews with surviving members of staff in an attempt to piece together what took place at Aston House. Much of the book is transcripts of taped interviews with those people and it is fascinating. Aston House was responsible for the production of numerous demolition type stores for issue to Special Forces and resistance groups, in very high quantities.
