Hello,

I have conflicting informations about the filling of the South African smoke grenade M854A1 : red phosphorus or HC.
Two different fillings for the same grenade or it's a mistake in my documentation ?

Regards

I have no immediatly doc about this grenade, but, I'll let you known my thoughts !
Red phosphorus is an incendiary element, HC need a flame to be initiated. It's possible that in the grenade, you can find the TWO element, a little charge of red phosphorus wich shall initiate the HC charge.

These are just thoughts !

I show it as 220 grams of RP, with burster weight/composition unknown. The M811 is also RP
