Soviet Nomenclatures designations

While doing my never ending search for Soviet submunitions I came across this document. It sure helped me clear up some questions I had about designations, now to figure out how "R" designations come to play.

Actually the "9M..." they refer to as the "system" is in fact the complete missile or rocket only. The "system" (launcher unit + rocket/missile and other related equipment) would have a "9K..." designation ("K" for "komplex").
