'Spade' stamp on 18 Pr

Hi,
I've been trying to identify this 'spade' looking stamp on the base of a 1915 18 pounder (Royal Laboratories) - just about in the centre of the photo. Or it could be upside down in the photo, in which case it's more heart shaped. Any help would be welcome.
