I picked this up recently. Unusually nice condition, with just a very few worm holes in the base, shame the lid is missing but it still has the turn buttons. Apparently it was brought back from Japan by a British medic after the war and was found in his shed. It has some pages from the August 1947 Times Review Of Industry inside.

I would swap this for a steel Hotchkiss ammunition box in good order with nice original stencilling, any variant, such as 'Mark IV Hotchkiss Ammunition Box', 'Mark V And Medium Mark A Hotchkiss Ammunition Box', etc.
