T C Co monogram on 18 Pr Case.

I have an 18Pr case with this TCCo monogram that Tim G identified as made by The Crosby Company, Buffalo, New York, USA.
If you look at 8 o'clock position there is an arrow in a C for Canada.
I ask if this company had a branch in Canada or made 18 PR case for Canada or UK? Proof seems to be the symbol shown.
The early primer is tight and does not remove.

The case is an example of US Crosby sub-contract production for Canada, with a Canadian acceptance stamp and date (7 March 1916) and Canadian Lot code. The Lot code (AVW) was stamped at manufacture while the acceptance stamp and date were applied after samples from the Lot had passed proof. Ultimately the cartridge was destined - as Canadian contract munitions output - for the UK; by the end of 1916 over half of all 18-pr Shrapnel rounds used by the British Army in France came from Canada.

Crosby, with their expertise in metal drawing and pressing, were recorded as having greatly assisted the Canadian Shell Committee during the setting up of new cartridge manufacturers in Canada, such as Montreal Ammunition Co. and Metal Drawing Co. - History of Munitions Supply in Canada 1914-1918, p47.

Bearing in mind their location - ~2Km from the Canadian border and ~ 50Km from St. Catharines (MDCo) it wouldn't surprise me if their cases were inspected by a visiting Canadain Imperial Munitions Board Inspector.
