OK, I found another drawing that baffles me. Anyone know what the background is of this round? There is no clue on any of the drawings and I have never seen anything like it.

V40, Thanks, but not a fit. The drawing is dated 1958. I found a note that puts the round with the experimental Pivot gun. Now the problem is I know I have a thick report on the gun, but right now it is lost in my piles of papers. The report never showed the round for the gun.
 
It looks much like a round for a recoilless gun. The Germans developed a similar 55mm automatic aircraft gun in WWII, it was the MK 115.
