Tekst on 28 cm SKL40 case

Can anyone decipher the tekst on this case, came from a farmer, who took it after the second wordlwar out of a german storage at a railway emplacement, with some more ammo. Do not know if the complete text is there, but give it a shot:

I think it reads "verfeuern" ~ "to fire". As this word makes no sense alone there must have been more words.

Alpine, yes that will be the text on it. Will check for it more tomorrow. Mayb some faint text will appear in sunlight.
