Tube Friction ?

AE501

HONOURED MEMBER RIP
I have had this for some time and kept it because it is so well made for a tube friction.
Perhaps it is naval and intended to be in a ready use situation in all weathers.
I think it is a work of art. The milling is very like that on a shotgun safety catch.
There are no markings so it could be non UK.
It is 2" long

Only because it looked as though it would be used in a situation requiring it to be exposed to all weathers and would have to be watertight aand ready to work instantly.
It could equally be in another situation such as coast defence.
I found this some while back in a publication and thought I would remember where then promptly forgot it.
Having seen reference elsewhere in this thread about German egg grenades it is likely that this is where I saw it.
