Two types of primers are the No 8 and the No 27.

Can ayone tell me the difference between the two types of primers ,the No 8 and the No 27 ? Its for a ww2 display.

According to my notes the No 8 Primer was Land Service store for proof and experimental work only and it was cancelled.

The No 27 was a replacement for the No 16 having a larger magazine. It was also an alternative for the No 5. The No 27 Primer was used on QF 2Pr Mk 8 Gun, QF 2Pr Sub-calibre & QF 2Pr Sub-calibre (QF 3.7-inch Mks 1 to 3 Guns) Mk 1
