Two unfinished South African Mills No 36 Grenades

Andy Naude

I have just received these two unfinished Mills No.36 Grenades. I know ZERO about grenades, except that I had the priveledge of being able to through a Mills 36 in the early 80's while on training. From my previous post I believe these to be genuine and made in South Africa (if I may quote SNUFKIN).

On the front appear the letters "E F" , any ideas?

My thoughts were that "F" was for Foundry, but I am lost with the "E".

Only South Afroican town that came to mind was Edenvale.

Any ideas ?
