I recently obtained this steel cartridge, reputed to come from a Mig fighter. Any ideas what it might be for? Ejector seat possibly?

The cartridges I have seen described as for Russian ejection seats usually have two primer caps around 1/2 inch apart.

Try asking member Ivashkin, he might know or be able to translate the markings on the cases for sale.

Fred,

This is a 50 mm LO-43 IR flare as used in the dispenser mounted in the MIG-23MLD.

Regards,

Fede
