Unidentified 76mm AP projectile

Hi,
Can anyone help to identify this projectile?
I must have bought it on Specialist Auctions about 10 years ago, but I can't remember what it is!
The diameter is approximately 75 mm and it's approx. 22.5 cm long.
Thanks in advance for any help on the type, calibre and/or nationality.

Does it have any stamping around the body? It looks like a UK 75mm AP for the Sherman. Whoever repainted it, incorrectly painted it as if it were an AP-T.

Hello,
Hazord, do you think to M72 shot ?
No crimp groove and no tracer on this example.
For sure badly repainted to imitate an AP-T British shot. White tip could be ok but red band is for tracer.

Thanks for that.
There are no stamped markings visible.
I think it was originally described as a 6-pounder AP shot, but someone else said that the position of the driving band meant it was American.
Does that help with the identification?

Sebastian, yes I was thinking a projectile like the M72, except all of the M72 shot had tracers, and it looks like an M72, but it doesn't have a tracer unless the hole is filled in flush. That's why I was thinking it is British. They did make an AP projectile with no tracer. It is shown next to my M72 in the second photo of this post: No crimping groove, no tracer.
