Unidentified Battery Signal Lamp Box
Any help identifying this box would be appreciated. It has been suggested that it is no British or Commonwealth, but might be part of " illuminating apparatus for artillery? It might be fixed to a gun and have one light that clips to a telescopic sight to light up the graticule, and another to use as a torch so you can see what you're doing to set shell fuses, etc. "
It appears to have originally been divided into 3 compartments.
