Can any one please help identify this 35 mm Oelikon round. I believe it to be of South African manufacture. I have enquired locally and was told that it is a Target Practice Type (TPT). I'm still none the wiser.
Training Practice Tracer (TPT) ? I am unsure what the colour represents. Just thinking that most practice rounds would be blue instead. Sorry I don't know more about this round. Somebody else here will know I'm sure.
The Denel 35mm Dual Purpose Gun is used by SA Navy for close in weapons system since 2005. Cant seem to find M1A2 information. 35x228 mm cartridges for this gun comes in HEI, HEI-T, SAPHEI, PRAC, PRAC-T manufactured by PMP of Rheinmetall Denel Munitions.
I have just come across same coloured projectiles of other calibers and are all Drill cartridges and stenciled DRILL on the projectiles. This must be it.
It's only what I came across in other calibers with same colour. A couple of 30mm and a 25mm all were stenciled DRILL. And I thought it was pink. :elefant:The women here tell me it's "Lilac" or "Mauve". What would I know !
Mans eye can distinguish 24 basic colors.
I tried to explain to my wife several times that peach is a fruit or flavour but certainly not a colour. :banghead:

That makes it difficult as many of these rounds look very similar despite being made in various countries. The headstamp would have been a much better clue.
